Besides honouring a great Toronto humanitarian, June Callwood Park will be a signature park linking historic Fort York to the Toronto Waterfront. The park will be unique - a bridge between Toronto’s early settlement and the vibrant present-day community, one of Toronto’s newest residential neighbourhoods. The Park will become part of a network of existing – and future - public spaces serving visitors and Torontonians alike. Furthermore, it will be in place in time for the 2012 Commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812. The subject of a Toronto Public Art Competition and designed by Toronto firm, gh3, our newest park is already attracting wide media attention for its exceptional design.
