Our parks and trees are under stress, and need our assistance. That’s why, in 2002, I launched the Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation (TPTF) and served as its first Chair. This non-profit organization works to enhance, preserve and restore Toronto’s parks and public spaces by fundraising and operating a community grants program to local groups.
Part of the fundraising effort is an annual Toronto Tree Calendar. For 2010, the calendar features photos and texts by a renowned photographer, Vincenzo Pietropaolo, in honour of Toronto's 175th anniversary as an incorporated City. Our oldest - 175 years plus - and largest trees will be featured.
